President of the association Bistrot de Pays

In the 1990s, Bernard Reynal starts to think about his « Bistrot de Pays » concept. At the same time, he works as director of the Syndicat Intercommunal d’aménagement du Causse Corrézien and his mission is to manage tourism activites developed around the Causse lake. Faithful to sustainable development principles like « think global, act local », he is also at this time assistant director of the Fédération Nationale des Pays d’accueil Touristiques. During a meeting of this association, he exposes his idea : creating a new label that would enhance small « bistrots » in towns as places of animation and social link to reinforce rural territories attractivity. He is currently President of the Fédération Nationale des Bistrots de Pays that gathers more than 200 establishments in France. Always localy committed, he is also the Mayor of Astaillic, vice-president of the Communauté de communes Midi Corrézien and Grand master of the black diamond and gastronomy brotherhood in France and in the world. He was rewarded in 2008 with a gold medal of tourism and « chevalier du mérite agricole » in 2010.
